PPG LINQ Color

Download a reading, send a mix to your scale, print a label, and find the best color with PPG VisualizID.

After you have finished reading a color on a vehicle with your spectro, you can then take that reading and transfer it to PPG LINQ Color. These steps will teach you how to download this data.
Before performing any installations or device connections, make sure PaintManager is not running on your PC.

1. Complete a color reading on a vehicle or a panel. Connect your spectrophotometer via the docking station/USB cable, or if connecting via WiFi, make sure you are in range of the network.

2. The reading(s) will download automatically. PPG LINQ Color will prompt when they are available.

3. From the main screen in PPG LINQ Color, select RapidMatch®. The list of downloaded readings are now available.

PPG VisualizID will help you find the best color match for your reading, with exceptional 3D color visualization technology.
Before performing any installations or device connections, make sure PaintManager is not running on your PC.

1. Select one of the readings from the list in the RapidMatch area.

2. Add the Color Code and click Continue.

3. PPG VisualizID will show the Target on the left and the Database Match on the right.

4. Use your mouse (or fingers on a touch device) to change the angles and zoom in.

After you have searched for a formula, you are now ready to send your mix to your scale, and start pouring your paint. In this section, you will learn how PPG LINQ Color will help you accurately mix your formula and automatically correct for overpours.
Before performing any installations or device connections, make sure PaintManager is not running on your PC.

1. After searching for a formula, click the Mix button. MagicApp receives the formula and the application is automatically prompted on screen.

2. Click on Start to view the entire formula ingredients and quantity in MagicApp.

3. You can now pour each ingredient, checking the remaining quantity on the scale display or on MagicApp. After the last ingredient is poured, click Finish and the application will close automatically.

4. If you overpour an ingredient, MagicApp will ask if you want to rebulk, ignore or waste.

Another benefit of PPG MagicApp is that it allows you to search for a formula and send it directly to your label printer from any device - you no longer need to stay in front of the PC next to the printer! Learn how to print a label with the steps below.
Before performing any installations or device connections, make sure PaintManager is not running on your PC.

1. From the formula page, click Label. The preview page will open and show how the label will appear.

2. Different label templates and formats can be selected from the PPG LINQ Color Settings area.

3. To print the label, click the printer icon. Choose your label from the printer and click Print.

4. You can check the printing status from the Devices area.
